My field trip

One day, I went to a field trip at Green Mountain Orchard and we got to have a hay ride.

It was fun! The hay ride went all around the farm. Yes, it did! It was a fun ride. I got to sit next to Jack. After the hay ride, we got to have snack. It was apple cider to drink and cider doughnuts. They were really good. Well, I didn't want to really drink the cider, so Emmett's mom threw it in the grass. Then it was great.
I love picking apples. We picked some on the field trip, you know. I liked picking the apples for the apple pie.


It was great. Yummy yum yum yum. I love apples!

Jim is coming over today

My uncle Jim came over the other day. The weekend was fun, spending a time with him. Jim came over on Saturday. We went to different places. They were cool. There were cars at one store. Sometimes I see signs that say "One Way."

First stop: Grafton Village Cheese Factory

I'm hiding in this picture, but Sebastian is always in the way for me. I was rolling down the dusty and grassy hill. And one time I ran down so fast I couldn't stop myself from running 'til I got to this dried up water pipe. I'm making muscles.
I am jumping off a rock. I really love jumping off a rock when I'm Dorian. Dorian, the greatest boy in the world!

Next stop: Harlow's Sugar House

First, we went into the store and we met this woman and she told us we had to wait a second until we could see the sap in the machines, so we decided to go over to the maple trees and look at the sap. We tasted it. Did you know that 40 gallons of sap is just one gallon of maple syrup?! The sap tasted like water with one little piece of sugar in it.

I'm in the trees with Sebastian. Bye-bye, I'm leaving this tree by the sidewalk with the bee. I'm hiding. Can you find me?
We're in the evaporation room. First, we followed this truck full of sap over to this big tank. Then, we followed this pipe that we saw all the way into the evaporation room. First, the evaporator was just getting ready. It was warming up. Then, a few minutes later, the steam billowed everywhere! It looked like a total explosion had went off and the smoke couldn't stop going away. It was crazy! And then we had some maple syrup and then we ate some sugar on snow and some apple fritters. The fritters were delicious! They were very delicious! I hope you go there and taste them someday. I love the sugar on snow and the apple fritters.
Third stop: Dwight Miller Orchards
I'm throwing rocks in this humongous puddle.
Now we're racing races. When I was running with Daddy, he jumped over my head and that was not fair. Not only that but I also got hurt. On Sebastian it hurted so bad.

Last stop: Our living room

I'm playing a trumpet that Jim gave me. I'm reading my magazine. It came with a mouthpiece, too, which is an important part.

I'm farting... I'm Dorian... I'm farting because I'm Dorian...

I'm using a trumpet. I love using a trumpet because that's Jim's. Jim came over today.

When we were going

At the tree farm when we saw the little too much rain. We saw lots of really high trees.
I am standing on a big stump with one foot on a high part and one foot on a low part. My pose is called "the Flinc." I look like a duck quacker.

Now we're by our Christmas tree. We didn't bring our Christmas tree home today. I can't wait for Christmas. It sort of started to rain, so we put our hoods on. We're going to get our Christmas tree by carrying it on the car in December. And a farmer named Bill is going to cut it down for us.



Now we're in a labyrinth. And we're sitting in the middle of a rock in the middle of the labyrinth. We knew where to walk by following the path. But we saw animal holes, so that was not very nice.

Standing on the fence

There was a pig at the farm. I want to name that pig something yesterday, on Thursday. Mama, it's not Thursday yet when they will tear down the chimney.
Why am I standing there? I don't know. I was standing on a table and saying hello to them. "Hello, pigs!"
I will count them first. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10! 10 apples. Oh my gosh! Pumpkins.
We were picking apples. We were going to the cemetery. No. Where were we going there? To the orchard. Oh. But the apple picking is too far away from home.
Sebastian and Dorian. Did you saw ourselves on the computer? Looking at the sheep and I didn't know to get on. Hm.

Where is the wooden apple?

The wooden apple is a prize. We were trying to find it while we were going apple picking.
This is a pig. The pigs are very cute. They were in the pasture this time. The pasture at Dwight Miller Orchards.
They were saying [snorts].
Look at those apple trees!
I am eating an apple. I'm eating an apple.
I'm up in a tree. I got up there to have fun. And this is how I got up there: I put one hand up, then the other hand. I put one knee up, then the other knee. I like climbing trees. Me, too. It's really fun. Yeah... it is.

We went to Green Mountain Orchard

We're off in the distance. Can you see us? Just a little past those puddles. See that person with the black pants? That's me. I think. The other one is Lydia, I think.
I am right. We're looking at the reindeer. The reindeer was trying to get the apple I was eating.
We got some plums and apples. Don't they look pretty and yummy? I guess they're pretty yummy. [laughs]

CSA day

I like the chickens to eat the grass. I like the chickens to eat the flowers. Oh, no! The chicken's grumpy! Those chickens were funny. But anyway they're going to be killed for people to eat. Oh! I no want to be eaten!
That's nice chicken wire, don't you think?
That's me! I'd like to pretend we're at Green Island. It's a place all green. We're really at Dwight Miller Orchard.
Those are apple flowers. They are apple trees.

Bastian's riding a horse. You put some coins in there. One coin and two coin.
I'm seeing the chickens. They are in there in their little home.

My zoo

Today, I built a zoo. We had an aviary, a savannah, a jungle, a river, an ocean, a lake, and a pond. We even had a farm and a desert. Kind of like dessert as you say.
Look at the jungle! There is a leopard, a jagular. You know what jagulars do? Um, they always call, "Hellooooo" and when you look up, they drop on you. And we also had an orangutan, a monkey, a toucan and a gorilla.
Here is the pond. Look how beautiful it is! And all those animals. I like animals.
And here we have the lake. All these animals live here. Have you ever heard of an "aminal"? That is many kinds of bugs. That's what my friend Stephen told me.

It's the little pond. I saw a crawdad in the water. This was at Scott Farm. We went there to pick apples, but then we didn't because Dorian was having a freak out.

Stonewall Farm's 500th visit

I'm driving on the tractor. I'm turning the wheel. I'm pulling a lever. I'm changing the gear.
Dorian's swingin' on the swing.
I'm lookin' in the telescope. I was calling that play structure "The Pirate Ship."
I'm lookin' through the telescope again. And when I slid down the slide it was really really fast. WHOOSH!!!
I went to Stonewall Farm to play. And I liked playing on the tractor and the pirate ship. And I also liked the ride on the slide, but I didn't turn the wheel because I wasn't the pretend captain. So that's why. We saw chickens and bunnies and 2 chickens loose. And we even saw some horses. When we were in the field by the playground we saw lots and lots of cows. But we didn't see the sheep!

Going to the farm was cute about the piglets for us

We went to the Putney School and we went to the farm. Noah sent us to the cow house.
We saw very big cows and little cows. One of them outside was called Zeus.
The cows were mooing in the pasture.

We saw piglets. They were wrestling around and grunting. They were making a pig pile. They were pooping in one place. Daddy's favorite was the striped.

We saw some hens and I heard a rooster. It was so funny. The hens were very funny... Daddy told me one of them was carrying an egg.

The brown horse and the black horse looked lonely because I just didn't know what they were doing. The black one wouldn't look at me because he was afraid of the pickies and I'm one of the pickies. The pickies clean up the house before they go to bed.

It was so very, ever so very, the best farm ever, fun.
